black or polished wheels.

My wheels are starting to look aged so been torn between leaving them as they are or getting them painted satin black.

Only get the Silverstone picture.

My silver GTR will have the standard shiny alloy wheels, so go black for a different look but I am not sure if you can go back to the alloy look if you don't like it.

Paul

PS. I still love the look of your car.

cant go back to silver afterwards as they will beed blast the wheels then powder coat, so im knackered if the look isnt right!!!

Design of wheel looking a bit dated now with the small centre rotors , but black will look modern and the eye is drawn to the shape of the car rather than shinnyy wheels.

but Im not sure, hence the question..

Mine are satin black and I'm very pleased with the look.

We have also had some done in a dark graphite recently for a black car and I think that would work better with the silver.

We have a wheel guy local to us who does a very good job. Give us a bell.

Are they being dismantled or coated as one piece?
If they are being done whole and powder coated there is a possibility the heat of the coating oven will damage the O seals in the rims.
Can probably take some pics of the wheels tomorrow.

Dark graphite my favourite so far, but would like to see pics. Would match the carbon fibre wing nicely too.

matt black could be a bit bland. Satin better ?

Don't think you will go too far wrong anyway as its a cool car.

I think the black would work better with the black grills and wing/splitter.

When coated you will need to clear the paint from the bolt holes as the nuts are a tight fit. I think clearing the holes will still be easier than trying to mask them.

Hi

I thought about this, but there are a few issues.

You must dismantle them to powder coat, but then you will have to clear out the bolt holes AND the two mating faces. This requires a very large lathe and a lot of time. If you bolt back together without cleaning off the powder coating then it may not seal properly and it may well be out of symmetry.

Too much of a risk for me.

Done this through an experienced outfit... they will still stand powder coat and re-seal just fine..... the Company I used were not the cheapest and did air a view over the same issue... but the refinish and rebuild turned out very well..... Chewy ?
