All verified by Guiness I believe.

Also on standard road legal tyres not Mickey Thompson Drag radials

But you have 335 section tyres or whatever?
11.1/133.xx on road tyres has been my best, thats 255/35-18.

What have you done?

Rather than arguing over and Apples & Oranges comparisson, just look at the factory site for the figures on their demonstrator (which is built only with parts available to customers, nothing special or tricky): http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/Content.aspx?f=recor...

Yes, very nice, but what has anyone actually done?
Was talking about Ultimas and how nice they are, and we wondered what they can actually do.
Have any of you guys ACTUALLY tried it?
You all have slightly diffent takes on the engines...
Our group have LS's in all sorts of cars, from stock to twin Turbo.

Ultima's are generally built for going quickly everywhere, not just a stright line.

Plently of the US builders will have timeslips to share - but you will have to wait for them to wake up to reply!

Non factory times are hard to find, if its the factory demo car its going to have the best of everything.
Was curious as to what a more mortal build might achieve.

140+ terminal lots of power!

And lots of gear changes!

Except the facotry car wasn't built as a drag car.

What is the point of this thread?

I can tell you now, built for the purpose, the Ultima will be faster than your Cerb - happy?

I'm not sure where this is going? The factory page shows the records achieved with a customer spec demo car, what more are you after?

There are plenty of private Ultimas out there with crazy power on twin turbos & superchargers, Lexus / BMW / Audi engines, etc, etc. It's pointless comparing them against each other, let alone any other brand of car, as no usful conclusions can be drawn... it's just numbers on paper (or screen).

Personally, 1/4 is of no interest to me, I prefer exploitable / usable power and the challenge of driving briskly (safely) on a mountain road. As such, my Can Am, will not have more than 520bhp, when complete.

Each to their own of course, but be careful what conclusions you're trying to draw. Enjoy, Tiv + LS = big grins!

Any drag car built for the purpose will be faster, its called a drag car.
I answered earlier why i was asking, eg nice car wonder what they quarter in..

My shed is not a drag car either.

The spec of the factory demo car is nothing special (i.e. unavailable to customers). It has the same suspension that I and many other people spec for their cars, an off the shelf motor and the std Porsche g'box.

FYI, the factory pride themselves on setting their times with customer spec cars, on normal road tyres, etc and not built for a purpose specials.

Sheesh, you lot are a bit touchy aren't ya?
I believe the o/p asked a simple straightforward question?

What real world numbers have any LS powered Ultima owners pulled on the quarter.
No need to be so defensive chaps, he's not denigrating your choice of vehicle, simply asking a question. There are some similarities in the cars, (and some huge differences too).
It would be interesting (from my pov), to see if the superior aero package of the Ultima is a big assist even on the quarter?

Lighten up chaps, (sheesh, kit car owners are always so defensive....)
PS that's humour in case yer too far up yer own arse to figure it out.... wink

I think the best Jeff Schwartz did in his car pre-turbo was 10.38... that was a 500hp LS1.

Pretty nifty, what does the Turbo stuff do!?
Must be some of the highest powered LS stuff on the road...

Was out in a fresh built TT rx7 with a 416CI LS3 last night, that was pretty smokey, around 950bhp fly (actually 800rwhp), and not yet qtr miled! wink

I'd imagine for a same powered ultima and cerbera, the ultima would have a quicker et, but slightly slower terminal unless the rear wing was removed.

Brummie, yours is about 630hp?

Not seen many uk cars 1/4 times apart from the factory. Clive did a few I think, but his car wasnt as powerful as yours.

I can see why they call you lippydave wink

As for being touchy, this is probably your first foray into this part of the forums. We periodically get trolls and dreamers and that's taught the 'regulars' to be fairly on guard.

I'm sure the OP's request for info was done in good faith, but it doesn't take much to turn into a pi$$ing contest.

Anyway... meanwhile - back at the strip...

Indeed. It's not the best move to come into the forum, attack the factory's figures as being "wild" and then to shout in capital letters, asking whether anyone has managed to repeat their numbers! The written word, especially on forums, is hard to get right, but easy to be taken wrongly.

As you were wink

I'm around 625bhp at the fly, if assuming 15% losses.
Outside of monaros, and they are miles heavier, here must have the most modded ls's, so is interesting.
