Hi all,

I know I asked a few questions about this before, but I want to know what to expect!

I would like to strip my Accusump and clean it out, others have found it tends to collect sludge and other nasty stuff.

So, I assume the first step is to let it push all the oil out (someone forgot this I seem to remember!). Then should I de-pressurise the air end, assuming it is like a standard tyre valve?

Each end plate seems to be held by four bolts, which end should I remove, or both? At the mo I can't quite picture how the thing holds together.

Another point is does it all go back together using the same seals, or should I be expecting to have to replace them?

Many thanks
Phil.

On my accusump, both ends screw off.

Oh, I should have looked more closely, so the holes that I see are to aid removal of the end caps (not bolts). I guess I will have to make something up or just clamp a couple of bolts into a vise and twist the cylinder with the end cap located into the bolts.

Just worried about then having to source some replacement o-rings, in my experience the things swell and never go back in again...

The 'o' rings were fine to reuse in mine.

Try and use three points when removing as it is easy to distort the body and once you do this it is scrap.
