Can anybody recommend a good rolling road/tuning garage for Chevy V8’s. I have an American Speed supplied unit that I would like to get confirmation of performance and adjusted.
During the SVA I was forced to meet 1980’s emissions levels and the tester played around with the idle screws to get it through. As a consequence I have a carb that is not setup properly (at least on idle jets). The engine does tend to stutter when hitting the accelerator from idle, most noticeable when pulling out of roundabouts.

If it's just the idle adjustment that's been modified then you should be able to get a pretty good tune by tweaking them yourself. Sounds like you could do with richening it up a bit. Outside of idle the jetting should be OK (for max power) if you bought it from American Speed.
When I had my car on the dyno last month the setup was perfect for max power on full throttle...just absurdly rich on part throttle. This was an out of the box American Speed setup.

I went to Dastek in Dalgety Bay in Fife. It was a rolling road session with a bunch of guys from the PH Scotland forum. We only did a couple of power runs and had a look at the results, no time for fiddling. It was very clear though that the guys who run it are pretty knowlegable but haven't a monkeys about Holley carbs...
