Air Vent Upgrades?
Discussion
For the last few weeks I've been looking for nicer air vents for my car.... and am struggling.
For the dash top (leading edge for demisting if I put a full screen on later), I'd like some smaller, more descrete units, while for the main cabin I'd like some aesthetically pleasing, circular units (that are not from an Audi TT!).
I just can't find much choice out there. Everything seems to be very "functional", but not pretty. So, given my criteria, does anyone know of anything out there that might be worth a look? For the main vents, I'd really like something that looks like a mini jet engine, if you get my drift?! Any recommendations?

[quote=deadscoob]Personally I think the Audi vents are too "nice" for an Ultima, they look out of place.
I ended up going with Fiesta ones. Not overly pleasing, silver rings can be painted whatever colour you like, but they're small, light and have 360 degree rotating and opening vents.[\quote]
Too many people use TT vents and they're too obviously Audi, so I'm after something different. Fiesta vents don't quite have the look I'm after, but will bear them in mind. Cheers.

Rav4?
There's a few cars with those vents... I'm after something like these: http://autoworld.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/mclar... I can't see Ron letting anyone buy them, so I'm hoping they're a bought-in part from somewhere.
Rav4?
How about this one, may be a bit pricey for a set though:

Looks like you could stick some RC car wheels into the regular eyebal type vents that many cars have.consider something like this

grafted into series 1 mazda mx5 vents

?
or the later series 3 mx5 vents might be a go'er on there own

?
The MX5 Mk1 vent has been done to death (and my wife had a Mk2 for 5yrs, so I'm bored of looking at those, LOL!), however, the Mk3 vent looks nice. I've found some Seat Leon vents look OK too. However, with the exception of the MP4-Yawn vents, I've found 3 more contenders:
I think this is very elegant.....

The Fez 599 vent is nice too (probably pricey):

And I'm drawn to this one too:

Any advances?

Guys think I still have a few sets of the vents I made up for my car:

They are tip-top quality and fit the Ultima air hose using Suzuki air vents (supplied with kit) - vents have lovely action similar to rotating bezel on a divers watch.....
If anyone's interested then drop me a PM and I'll check the workshop - not back to the UK though till 20th

Sorry bud.....
In my defence its been hectic year or so with relocation to Houston & constant business trips to Oz.
Trip home on the 20th is fixed though as I'm racing in the Britcar 24 again
Team is something special this year with some great sponsors & it's gonna be really interesting being out on track with the MacG Ultima.......
Anyways I'll check as soon as I get in and let you know the score.....
Cheers, Simon

Can vouch for Simon's design - lovely to look at, use and adjust - significantly better than the factory items (in my view of course).http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
