Center Shift and dry sump make gear change hard

I have a USA Can Am with center shift and dry sump oil system. This requires rerouting shift linkage and requires far to many joints which make shifting difficult. Has anyone had this problem or used an alternative shift setup...paddle shifter?

Ray,

There are companies that make brakets to repostion the pump to allow the shift linkage to take a normal route. I listed one in the past on this forum, try out a search.

The real problem will be where to put the dry sump tank. Patrick racing makes a cable shift mechanism for the gearbox but I heard bad things about it. As a result I reverted to wet sump.

One thing I found when re-routing the linkage is to be sure the last bar is parallel with the out put shaft on the rear of the gear box. My first attempt had the last bar angling up to the rear of the gear box and shifting was almost impossible and the gears where not where they where supposed to be. The position of the final factory rose join is right where it needs to be.
