Insurance issue

Hi I'm looking to buy an Ultima, I've found one I really like but after being messed about by one insurance company I'm wondering if there are any other suggestions? It seems most either do not recognise them or want to charge an extortionate amount due to my age. I'm no stranger to fast cars and high insurance premiums but over £8k is ridiculous even by my standards.

yep, go to an insurance company who know what it is! My son had the same with his TVR wedge - he was 22 years old and Direct line wanted £35,000 !!!! He got it from haggery for £850

Depending on your age ( i assume not 17 !) you shouldn't pay more than a £1,000 I would suggest. Mine is £450- 4k miles per year via haggerty. (but there other companies)

Yes give CCI 'Competition car insurance' a go, I am the same as dal2litrefrogeye 4 track days included, don't bother with Adrian Flux its a no brainer.

Cheers for the help everyone, I've been sorting insurance out for the TVRs today and admiral down me great with the quote but have already messed me about with the whole Ultima thing. Will try the recommended one tomorrow.
I'm 23 with a claim against me for writing off a Tuscan, could be a contributing factor though. The Diablo was only £1,360.

And here i was thinking i was going to be the youngest person on here at only 24, albeit my car wont be registered until im 25. glad to see someone else at this age into these cars

There was a man (boy?) who had a GTR as his first car in his teens, with two added woks (if you can find the thread it is an amusing read). As you can imagine, it didn't end well (for the car, no one was seriously hurt)
