Impressive interior - Ultima GTR
Discussion
Popped in to factory this lunchtime to pick up some bits and came across a clients Black GTR that had a very impressive interior :-

Really impressed with trimming on the doors.

Anybodies car on here ?
Dave
PS. If the owner of car takes offence to photos being shared, please let me know & I will take photos down.

Would love to know how much a job like this costs.
Have another 6 photos of interior here if anyone is interested :- http://www.Facebook.com/Ultima.GTR.build

WOW!! Not very kit car looking but definitely top notch work there. Looks like the Factory can do a fantastic job for demanding customers. I wonder how much that costs...
I think the client arranged the trimming themselves. The factory guys were impressed with finish, that's for sure. Leogasp said:
Very nice indeed!! But a little too much confortable for an Ultima, IMO. It is not a Mercedes..its a GTR!
Coming from an Ariel Atom I've experienced as raw a car as I think you can go, especially over winter. A GTR has a windscreen , roof , heaters..... Geeez it's a limo .... Might as well go the whole hog then Edited by Leogasp on Tuesday 13th December 22:08
. Now where's that massaging seat option .....

I'm really not sure I get this kind of opinion. Aside from the (little) extra weight and the added cost which if you don't want then fair enough, otherwise why not? Edited by Leogasp on Tuesday 13th December 22:08
Because, race car!
No but seriously I honestly don't understand it, if it were purely for track duty then sure! It's fairly pointless but if it's mainly for road use and you can afford it why not? Doesn't make sense to me.

I well understand who want a more confortable and less rude GTR, anyone can have it tailored! BUT I personaly like sports car without (too much) compromises and i think the GTR is one of the few 100% pure and male sports car remained, than my idea about the GTR simpy don't match with this interior. If i wanted a confortable car I whould went for a 997tt or something similar?! Because, race car!

My own opinion is that the car should be kept as light as possible coupled with the most useable power you can achieve/afford.
Part of the enjoyment of these cars is that they are not like a production car, the fact that they are noisy and raw make it more of a 'event' to drive.
I can never understand why owners put in expensive sound systems that add weight and you cannot hear it unless the engine is idling. Why would you want to listen to music when you have such a wonderful sound coming from the engine?
Martin.

Looking at the responses I see most of us here would prefer a pure performance tool and thats part of the Project I recently started developing somethiong even more extreme than the Ultima which gave me the idea.
The basics is that anything that will make it go fast should be sincronised together to get something better and that means sequential transmission XTRAC in this case, V10 Engine 9250 RPM 700 ish ponies, pushrod suspension because of ease in tunabilety and you can use a short(Thus lighter) stabalizer that is adjustable from behind the steering wheel.
The best shocks Dynamic DSSV system, Carbon brakes and ultra light 6 pot calipers still looking for Carbon Wheels. Motorsport Uprights with big Bearings inside with centrelock wheels and titanium nuts.
thats all I can say for now.
But Looking at the interior it makes one doubt if an consession is in place its a very nice looking thing and I think we also have to look at what purpose do we build the car for and if you occasionally want to drive on the track and most at times you will be cruising the boulevard in Monaco or so than that interiour is the way to go.
I will keep my interiour as light as possible therefor might dress it in suede light but a nice finish 2nd option all carbon inside light and also a beautiful finish not sure yet
