Childhood inspiration for wanting an Ultima
Discussion
Been sharing memories with friends over the 80's , when I came across this video of an US series I used to watch as a kid, purely for the car. Oh I so badly wanted that car back then LOL.

Now do I get the impression they left the side windows out, so the guys hair would fit in the car

Looks like that Coyote had or showed at least on film a Ferrari type comb gear shift. That is probably the only decent thing about that "thing" on wheels
I remember having dreamed many moons ago of a UK kit car based on a Beetle chassis which was shaped like a wedge. The front lifted up so you could climb inside. Can't remember the name, but it had me dreaming to own a poster to paste on the wall at least.

I was chatting to Dave about this earlier.... as a kid, I loved Hardcastle & McCormick, purely for the Cody Coyote. Even tho' it was a Beetle based kit car, the filming was often done at 1.5x speed and the V8 soundtrack badly dubbed, as a kid it was great TV!
I believe this is the Nova kit car you're refering too (and yes I liked that too!!!):

The Coyote body was based on the Bruce McLaren M6, Bruce's original car is now in Calgary and I know the guy that bought it, just waiting for a Invite to go see his collection as he also has the Last ever made FAV GT40 and about 70 other classics ....
and yes I agree that was a TV series I loved to watch as a Kid dreaming of a similarly outrageous road car...

Clive, Sounds like we know the same guy. I'm in Calgary frequently and actually just been offered a relocation North, not sure I can justify it now Race City track is closed though!Julian
