Currently I'm going with view of not installing a rear spoiler on my GTR, as I quite like the flow of the body without it.

Just wondered how many others have gone without one ?

Can always add one later if I fancy a change ( & lighten the wallet !! wink )

It seems most have the wing.....mine included..... I am sure it provides some down force that would be beneficial for track use but not really sure whether this is of benefit on the road. Having done a couple of runway runs (up to around 170mph) I also wonder how much it effects top speed due to drag....the car decelerated very quickly ....felt like braking fairly hard.... just be taking my foot of the gas at that speed.

when i was looking for / doing my research before i bought my ultima , one of my criteria was top end speed , ( i want to do the double ton ) so when mine came up for sale on here and it didnt have a wing it was another box ticked in the reasons to buy it . Last summer when i hit 189 mph , when i came off the throttle I also found it slowing down rapidly ,but it was in a nice calm non twitchy sort of way , that i had been led to belive ( it would be twitchy ) without the rear wing , but i must say i do think the rear wing does make the Ultima look more agressive ( in a good way ) smokin

As I recall the orange car at the open day this year did not yet have the spoiler and it did look good. Has anyone here painted their rear spoiler? I'm thinking this might look good but have yet to see it done I think.

Got bugger all to do with aesthetics you tight git, it's more to do with the aerodynamics of your wallet.biggrin

I'm not fitting one to my car. As Dave mentioned, I also like the flow of the body without the big wing. Maybe if the wing was 20% smaller it'd be a different response, tho'. There's no doubt some cars really suit it, but I think Tango's wheel & colour combo will look great without it thumbup

I don't have a spoiler, I prefer the looks without, and I'm sure it doesn't do anything to the handling at road speeds. Also I have a clear view in my mirrors of the road behind!

If you go for a front splitter then a rear wing is a must IMO.

For the mo I'm leaving the bodywork clean. Not to say I won't be bolting things on in the future though, so good point re splitter

We would disagree with this - unless you are going for a seriously large splitter (upwards of 100mm) which I imagine would present its own set of problems on the road.

As far as speed Vs stabilty i have no wing or splitter and even at 189 mph my Ultima felt very stable, infact it was only when i looked at the recall on my sat nav once i had slowed down I realised i had been as fast as that
