I'm trying to reinstate the Maf sensor on my Ls2 which has been removed for reasons unknown, and connector cut off.
Its a std Ls2 with e67 ecu, I want to install an Ls3 blade style sensor. Two things I need to know are where I an get the Ls3 Maf sensor and its connector. I believe its a Delphi 5 wire connection and I'm struggling to find one in the uk.

Cheers

the standard MAF sensor cannot handle the increased airflow of a HOT cam so its better to fit a LS1 air temp sensor as this can be configured to run with the e67 and will give better results.

Agree the LS2 MAF is less than ideal, however, the conversion to LS3/LS7 card-type MAF is usually seen as the best upgrade, even on high power forced induction motors. The LS3/7 MAF is faster reacting (upto 4x faster according to some Corvette forums) and has a wide response range.

As this LS3/7 MAF includes a temp sensor, most LS tuners conclude it makes more sense to do the simple swap over (change multi-plug pin-outs, house new MAF), thus retaining full sensor / ECU / data functionality, rather than attempting the very tricky business of MAF-less tuning.

When you say you can get "better" results without a MAF, how do you mean, exactly? This goes against feedback from LS builders / tuners I've contacted / researched, so would be interested in any additional data that's out there smile

pure and simple

all from dyno results, its easy to read info we can all do that!!! We have tried different things and options with LS1's, 2's, 3's and 7's. Monitoring air intake temperatures are more important than ultimately air flow but they all make mapping easier. The big issue in Ultimas is air intake temperatures not air flow and your info gained is essentially correct but your running a mid engine car not a Vette or a Cobra.

Yep & yep.... research is easy these days (thankfully!) and agree intake temps are important. I come from a background of force fed motors & arse engined 911s, so know that one only too well wink I'm always interested to know the different options for these cars and am intreagued to know the pros / cons of things like this... So far, only people racing LS motors advocate running MAF-less, so this is a very interesting topic on a street car. Hopefully we'll get some operator feedback & dyno figures on the LS2 shortly, once the MAF is sorted & re-wired in.

All interesting stuff. Are there are other owners on here running MAF-less? Certainly be interested to hear alternative setup experiences.
