Hi All again.

Just wondered if any other builders had a good day on their car?

I spent the day doing lots of different little jobs. I am getting ready to fit the engine for the last time (I hope) so doing all the engine bay plumbing, wiring, heat shielding, etc. Still a bit more to do, not least the water over oil cooler pipework.

Also did a few other bits just to ring the changes but had an enjoyable day in the workshop.

How about the rest of you?

Since the temp dropped to zero and my heater went pop, I've been a bit slow in the garage, I'm afraid. Still, this weekend I did manage to finsih off the GRP forms I made of the car's floor which will allow the trimmers to make up the floor carpets, without the car leave my garage, so that's another little job done. I also managed to make up a template for a cockpit front bulkhead, so that's another tick in the box, too. I need to crack on with dashboard wiring before the engine arrives....

Well, I am not on an Ultima anymore, but if I am allowed to post it here smile I had a good day on my Westfield making up brackets for the wheel speed sensors at the back and drilling and tapping the alloy front uprights so that the sensors could screw through to look at the front disc bolts. I intend to run TC on the car this season as I have a new S80 ECU.

Keith... I've basically made GRP moulds of the complete floor area to get a perfect image of the car for the trimmers. I protected the car with silver tape, then set to work with the mat & resin. Once set, hey presto, perfect floor pieces! By having the carpet made & bonded to these forms, I can pop them in / out easily and they'll not need to be stuck to the car. We'll have to wait to see if my crazy plan works out!
