Youd have thought with close to 1800bhp he could go a bit fater than that! the launch is crap. hes running an auto as well nd the tool isn't even running a 2step to get the turbos spooled!

1800 hp 950 kg = 7.5 seconds 208 mph

On paper Dom yes, but you need a four link rear not a transaxle to hook up those kind of numbers!

The launch was still very light. he could have come alot harder out of the hole. Im not saying and unltima could pull a 1.2 second 60ft! lol

probably 1800hp measured on the same dyno as AS

Well as nelson racing engines built the powerplant i guess its on their dyno. As with any dyno (esp US ones) you have to question the accuracey. Also wanted to see one of these really high BHP plant on a UK basd dyno to see how it dose over here.

The times they are achieving are not good.

with decent rubber, rear clip and some grip juice that car will run mid to low 8's no problems.

It doesnt look 1800hp worth, wonder if boosted down to 1000hp

Agreed but a four /multilink setup is less likely to break away compared to a transaxle under these extremes.

has anyone else gone quicker than a low 9, (was it 9.2 or 9.1) in an Ultima?

i want to know more about the gear box.

If it's torque you're worried about and you want to keep a standard synchro box the Ricardo box from a Ford GT will fit with "some" modification.

Why would you need to change out for the long ratios? Alto of drag racers running this kind of power run 3 or 4 speed boxes.

Not seen the vid in a couple of day, but i thought he was driving an auto? These help ALOT with big power engines as they take alot of the shock out of the drivetrain. (see T56 vs T400 gearbox debates)

i'm not worried about anything......

i don't have time to waste and its just the only part of the car that interests me. the Nelson racing engine i can find out about, the rest of the car looks standard Ultima except for the dash and trim which i don't care for much.

the gear box and the liquid natural gas stuff is probably where they should focus their attention, at least there was less of the interview stuff in the last vid and it was more about the car. any interview stuff i fast forward. if they had it being narrated in the background i might listen.
