DRY SUMP LEVEL INDICATOR

There has been traffic on here before about an external sight gauge for dry sump tanks. I was lookig for hot rod stuff for my latest project when I came across Speedway motors Item # 92547011. speedwaymotors.com/rear-end-fluid-level-checker it could be the answer. I don't understand how that would work accurately without a vent at the top of the tube. The factory tank has a sight tube on it that has an opening at the top and the bottom of the tank doen't it?

There has to be a hole to displace air in the tube or the oil level couldn't show.

As it appears to be a level for a rear axle I assume the top of the tube will be well above the level so open to atmosphere. I doubt it has the range to deal with a dry sump tank.

I used one of these (similar) in the past.
The problem appears with the car's movement. It will spills oil out throught the vent hole.
No solution.

I for one, are very keen to find something that can be added to my tank, so keep lookin' guys!

There must be some components (plastic sight tube + fittings)or kit out there so we can add??????

I have spent a few hrs on google but after a few red-herrings, gave up!

Silly question, but why does everyone feel it so important to have a sight tube? You can't see it from the drivers seat, so what's the advantage over just unscrewing the top of the reservoir and peering in?

Not my case. I use a simple dipstick. Simple and cheap.

There is a thick mesh plate in mine, so I cannot see beyond this!
