Wht has happened to everyone?
Yes, I know life is a little tough out there, but I thought us Ultima bods were made of sterner stuff?

This site is woefully quiet, and I for one are rather concerned...and a tad disappointed!

If it continues, we might just get taken over.....

So c'mon folks...and the Factory.... Get posting, even if it is just anecdotes or humerous!
Doesn't need to be hugely informative or mega-croning...

...just...something?

Thought I had better put something in as I have had a watching brief on the forum for the last 18 months! I have got a Can Am 20-20% built. Started, sort of, in Oct 2010 but this was as I was recovering from illness so slow work. really got in to it last summer but with help from my 15y old son managed to trap my right thumb in the rear suspension - big ouch, blood gore, swearing, hospital etc. When I told the factory Ted was sympathetic particularly as I hadn't damaged the chassis! Focused sympathy is the best interpretation, I think.......

Not done much over the winter, a mix of work and son thinking he might be a professional goalkeeper so every waking moment outside of work seems to be going to matches, training etc...

Re starting tomorrow!!!! Will post some photos - at the body prefit stage and struggling with the door alignment but who hasn't!

Tip from another thread re battery charger/conditioner best one is CTEK MXS 3.6 3.8A 12V Multi-Functional 4-Stage Car Battery Charger about £40 on Amazon.

Keep smiling and building

Keith, stop posting random ste and get yer car built, LOL!!!

Activity on here is sporadic, but in terms of a quick update here's mine....

Inner (cockpit) front bulkhead fabricated, fitted & trimmed
Cockpit side trim in progress
Underdash shelf fabricated and soon to be fitted. Alfa 156 air vents will go in it along with some 6" JL speakers
Dash2 wiring started

I'm sure there's other bits & pieces too, that's all I can think of at the moment!

As a lurker on the forum and potential buyer of a pre-built one ine the future, I'm quite surprised that cars in the classifieds aren't spoken about a bit more, even if it's just by the owners themselves.Seems to be few stuck for a while in the classifieds that I would have thought might provoke some discussion. I appreciate negative comments wouldn't go understandably wouldn't go down well. some of teh sellers don't have many posts to their name,so it's difficult to gauge things about the cars.

... stuck in a sort of drunken-elation state (sound familiar Keith biggrin)... engine block arrived two days ago.... not been in the house since... other half finds it strange how a big lump of metal attracts so much attention even whilst Fergie struts her stuff on 55 inches of HD TV !! I lurk too, I need to sort some other things out in my life over the next 12 months, but hope to start a build by the end of next year.

Currently Drive a 944 Turbo and contemplating what to replace that with in the interim, first choices are a 968 or 964, but then I wonder if I should take a chance on a cheap 996 and if the engine blows I can then break the car and keep the gearbox....

Will start my build when the parts arrive, ordered in November. So please don't tell the factory to post here, they should concentrate on my kit wink

Been laid up with a severe stomach complaint and not good yet.

Hello, have been lurking for years. I may be in a position to purchase an older car later in the year to experience my dream with the plan to upgrade to a Ls7 and more of a race spec sometime in the future.

Hi,

Factory must be busy as they were supposed to finish the finishing touches on our car and get it IVA'd by the beginning of this month. They now say it won't be done until early May when it will be displayed at Stoneleigh and we will pick it up from there (can't wait).

It was us that you kindly let come and gawp at your car a little while ago. That really helped when we were doing a lot of the body work and interior details (thanks)!!

generally a factory car will always be easier to sell to the general public... just because of the way the cars are perceived - its just a fact, the majority of the cars in the classifieds are owner built and seem to take a hell of a long time to sell. The current market is very poor as we all know and unless the price is vastly reduced from a factory car... the spec of the car rarely seems to help owner built cars (FYI - factory or owner built wouldnt bother me).
Most owner built cars are their "hobby" and as soon as the economy changes for the worst the first thing to go is "the hobby"..

I'm here - as ever mate smile

As far as I know, the models are coming along nicely - but factory are flat out with orders for the life-size version at the mo. They should be on display at Stoneleigh in May (6th/7th) where they'll be taking orders for them.

Re. classifieds - a couple seem good value, I'm trying to work out how I can justify a 2-seater to the wife smile
