Went to the local drag strip event on Thorney Island on the south coast today. About 200 cars turned up, a few real drag cars, loads of japs, tvrs, Loyus7 lookalikes and a few hia-megabusie-turbonutter-rollerscates. Track was VERY slippy... and so wheel spin until well into 3rd, and so the actual times looked very slow, but glad to report we were the fastest "car" there. 13 place out of 200 so not bad.
Fastest run we had (which my son Matt did - thats my boy!) was 12.86 and 117mph, and a 12.94 at 125mph. If you compare to the new TVR cerbera (with NOS!) did around 13.5, we were much quicker.
Only thing quicker were slicked drag cars. Strangest car on the strip was a BRAND NEW bently continental GT.
Good day had by all! BUT Only 1 ultima there!! come on guys... sunday was open day, so next year...

It was all new to us, so not sure what times are possible. Someone told me that places like santa pod are mega sticky tracks where wheel spin would be minimal, I guess this would make it quicker?? Great fun though and cheap (around £14 to £20 all in as many goes as you wanted)

Good to see some nice TVRs there, seem like you have a good "group" or blokes. Met a couple who had been to lemans and we always seem to meet on the ferry. So did you run faster than your dad??
