Does anyone know if mirrors that extend outside the bodywork need to be able to fold back still?

There used to be a requirement that mirrors had to fold back with a 10kg force, but that has been removed.

There is still a requirement that mirrors need to be mounted as per typical manufacturers methods, but to me that is separate to a fold back mechanism.

Thanks

Can you point me to where it states that in the current iva guide?

Thanks

I can see nothing in the current IVA manual requiring the mirrors to fold back.

However there is a statement saying if they are knocked then it must be possible to return the mirror to position without further adjustment.

Thanks Steve, that's all I could find too.

From that I take it their requirements don't clearly state anywhere they must fold back therefore it's no longer a requirement. Or am I setting myself up if they're fixed....

Are yours going to extend beyond the bodywork?
If so then why?

Because I don't like the standard GTR mirrors, mainly as they're not very practical in they don't provide good (practical) vision for track use. Might be ok for road.

I think it's a typical change for owners who track the cars, but as there are so few that do, it's not exactly easy to do if you want something IVA compatible too - and I don't want to fit the standard ones for IVA, then remove, fill holes and fit new ones elsewhere.
