Has anyone got a better solution for a tow ring than the factory job that fitted in the air inlet duct in the front clip?

That seems a real pain to fit as it has to have the inlet carved to miss the ring when the front cover is raised.

Alternatively, have you any comments on doing a trackday without a tow ring fitted

Stealing a discussion on the same subject at our Southern meet on Sunday.

Many production cars have a ring you screw in when required. If one of those was procured it would only require a small hole in the stone guard to align with a bar welded across the rad support structure.

Hi Phil,
i have exactly a setup exactly as Steve describes. I seem to remember the towing eye comes from a Renault Laguna - it's about 8" long (from memory), eye at one end and a bolt at the other.
I had a "nut" welded to the chassis front and rear and just screw them in for trackdays.
They need to be unscrewed to raise the front or rear bodywork, but it's a neat solution.
