I need to replace the Velcro that attaches the hood to the underside of the roll hoop. The velcro I used before was the heavy duty stuff and removing it has left the glue on the roll hoop! Any ideas of how to get rid go the glue? It's stuck like s.. t to a blanket. I've tried blades, petrol etc but not much is touching it!
you could pop into your local windscreen fitter. The guy that fitted mine left some acetone stuff, (unfortunately i dont have the bottle anymore) which ripped through the windscreen sealant and the black sealant stuff we use under the body. Used it all over the place and never had a substance it didnt clean away.
Sort of vague help there Graham.

Nail varnish remover is mainly acetone, so that might be worth a try (and the wife might have some!)
or you might find it in your Friday night drawer
seriously Graham the velco is more than likely stuck on with Evo Stik contact adhesive (mine was) for which you can buy a small 250ml can of Evo Stik adhesive cleaner which removes solvented adhesives grease and wax can get it from any hardware shop or possibly a big chain like B n Q comes in a red can
before you try anything else, drop Dave a mail because he did have an issue
