Fuel surge

I am building a GTR with LS3, and purchased a fuel surge kit from the factory, but would be interested to hear some opinion about whether fuel surge is much of an issue before deciding to install the kit or not.

I would install it if for nothing more than protecting the high pressure pump from running dry (Which they don't like).

What form does a surge kit take?

There's a picture of the kit (installed) in the 'Factory Part Updates' forum, and I think there's a flow diagram in the build manual
