LS7 camshaft bearings
Discussion
Not the suppliers fault Keith.......its the fitter/builders job to check.. Engine work differs from plain nuts and bolts, acquisition and maintenence of skills and engine knowledge along with some good measuring devices are needed as basics. There are at least two cam bearing sizes in LS's that Im aware of. Its not uncommon for engine 'assemblers' to have missed this, aftermarket block seals are another gotcha in GM performance engines.
Have a detailed look around the bearing housings Johnny, a full cam bearing seize could be quite stressful on a factory ally block.
Just checked, have no LS cam bearings myself but G luck with it.
Have a nice (callies/oliver) forged stroker crank, rods and bearings, make a strong 454 for someone....

Thanks for looking, its back with the guys who provided who are sorting it out but we are tight for time as we have the Brands Hatch GP round this weekend. Fingers crossed the bearings will arrive tomorrow but its not looking hopeful. It seized at about 1500 RPM after circa 5-6 seconds running so it shouldn't have done too much damage (we hope!)Have a detailed look around the bearing housings Johnny, a full cam bearing seize could be quite stressful on a factory ally block.
