Mine is finished (if an Ultima is ever finished!!!!) but is there no one doing anything interesting out there?????
The weather is cr*p so you can't drive them so you need to read something interesting on here to get a "fix".
Come on you builders, what are you up to?
Paul
BTW. Today's mod was additional foam rubber seals on the upper door aperture to reduce/eliminate wind noise at higher speeds. If it works I will post some pictures but too wet to try at the moment.

I am sulking. replaced clutch a while back. Took car for a few gentle laps of Silverstone the next day and everything was fine except clutch was a lot heavier as expected. Got home no probe put car away. Got her out a couple of weeks later and struggled to get reverse gear went to MOT station anyway thinking oil was cold and it would get better. Got worse until I could not engage any gear without a grind clutch seemed to be dragging but if I really pushed to floor fork was just coming into contact with pressure plate so no more adjustment available! Got her home just and have not dared to look but am worried that gearbox has cracked were fork pivot bar slots into casing!

I was also wondering since my previous post yesterday 14:26 and prior your's at 23:00 tonight, nothing has been writen. I've never seen this forum so quiet. Where is everybody??
Well I did try to play drunken host, but failed miserable in the previous posting
I guess builders are experimenting out there with new build techniques, custom parts and materials and are waiting for a little sunshine to test or we are all being choosey with our words on line? I'm sure there is some help out there from knowledgeable folk to answer Mark's query. I was pondering on a question on a new post about Carbon fibre and its use on an Ultima. But please answer Mark's request first. JimWaiting for some good weather.
My new spa gauges arrived today so I will be fitting new speedo, tacho, fuel gauge,
g/box temp, oil pressure, oil temp and water temp.
need to hook up sensors to g/box for temp to monitor temp and activate oil pump to cooler, boost sensor to manifold for switchable boost control boost gauge is in tacho.
Also fitting a new pressure sensor for brake bias gauge.
Got a self cancelling indicator gizmo for 10 and 20 second activation of indicators (I keep leaving them on)to fit as well.
Should keep me busy for a few hours.

MarkThings to try before slitting your wrists.
Bleed the clutch again. There may be air in the system and check the bleed screw is tight (but don't wring it off)
Check adjustment on pedal rod to master cylinder. You may need to lengthen it as I had to with a new clutch.
There should be a little movement between the slave cylinder rod and the clutch fork, but not much.
Hope this helps.

Oil pressure, water temperature, fuel pressure and temperature are all I have.
Oh, and Ford stalks for most switches, inc indicators with self cancelling.
Simples.

I have carbon fibre bits on mine (see pics in "stickies").

Weight saving for components is fine (IMO) but if it is just for looks (or even fake) then NOOOOOOOOO.
Just my opinion!!!

Thanks for the reply Paul but unfortunately none of it is relevant in my case.
As I said I can by pushing pedal really hard make the clutch fork come into contact with the pressure plate. Any more adjustment or travel on slave will just smash the fork into the pressure plate even harder.
I wish it were that easy. Wrist slashing is a bit much as I have a GT3 gearbox sat in my garage. However breaking my precious G50/00 would really piss me off.

Sounds like you could do with buying a new tool.....a bore scope. Then you can heve a look at what is actually happening down there. As I said I can by pushing pedal really hard make the clutch fork come into contact with the pressure plate. Oil temp is a must for box as its having to cope with a lot of stress, and ever since I saw my Noble M400 engine oil temp go 120+ I've had a bit of a thing with boosted applications.Oil pressure, water temperature, fuel pressure and temperature are all I have.

One of the main reasons for this much stuff is each gauge has a programmable switched output for oil pump, fans, EWP etc. and still only needs the same four factory positioned gauge holes.
I've been down the Stack dash route before and prefer to have info at hand rather than push a button to change the display.

Sorry to hear that. I had a mega heavy clutch, I couldn't hold it for long at junctions for fear of my knee popping out!I managed to get a compromise of smaller diameter master cylinder and slightly longer pedal travel.
If the bell housing has given way these guys do a repair for it.

Welllll Boys!
After having my car back from an exhaust refit, I sent the headers and cats off to zircotec...and they are back, all silvery sparkly like!
During that lull, I decided to rip out my engine and gbox (what again?)and spend time recovering my bulkhead as I was not happy with the previous material I used - messy and painful job but worth it! Then, I took the opportunity, putting my IVA head on, to check all line and cable runs and reposition where needed - checked all connections and cleaned up - very cathartic! Surprising what you can find that needs a tweek or two!
Engine now half in......so I have a full wekend ahead of me!
Will I ever get to IVA?

It sounds as though what ever has happened you will need to pull the box to effect a remedy. The shame is that from tomorrow the weather is supposed to improve. After two + months when there has hardly been a day without rain you will be unable to use your Ultima.

Erm, do we need to answer that?
Well, the Can Am rolls a little closer to the finish line as last night I started the daunting task of drilling the aeroscreen / side screens for fitting - don't want to crack that perspex!!!
Carbon air box is due soon, as are billet stalks, flush external door buttons and a few other goodies.
Other than that, the Race Tech dash & ECU interface config has stalled a bit while I wait for the data logger to arrive. Will hopefully be here shortly and I can continue with interrogating the ECU.
It's all fun and with the weather the way it is, I think I'm going to have to cover my interior in neoprene rather than leather & carpet!!
