HI , anyone else had this problem , iv got an Acusump fitted controlled by engine oil pressure switch that energizes the acusump electric valve , now my problem iv noticed as of yesterday when i turn ignition on the valve does not seem to be opening , ( the oil pressures not going up before i crank the engine ) now if i tap the oil pressure switch it passes the current to the electric valve and oil light goes out and pressure goes up , its the same if i bypass oil pressure switch , so it would seem the switch has gone bandy ( its only just 18 months old ) anyone else had a pressure switch go down on them ?

I don't use a switch on mine but taken that this switch would normally pass a very low current I'm guessing the contacts have burnt out and you now need a relay in line.

Hi cheers for the replies , pulled the pressure switch , checked ? and no continuity across terminals ,so I manually pushed the internal plunger in and out with a thin allen key , and regained continuity , screwed it back in and checked all back to normall , but i will keep an eye on it , and i like the idea of puting a relay into the circuit to protect it . also anyone know of a uk dealer i can buy one( pressure switch ) from ?? cheers , Dal
