Ive been to Bedford Autodrome for a track day today and there was a 12 plate LS powed Ultima there.
It looked fantastic and went very well. It was build to a very high standard but not finished, no paint one head light missing and it had a couple of ..... Pauses out on track, but I did see it being driven home, so nothing serious.
Anyway although it looked like an Ultima, it was longer and looked a bit different.
Although I had a good look at it the owner was nowhere to be seen.
Have Ultima released a new model? It looked great.

That was me - didn't think I'd make it but did.

Had fuelling issues caused by a badly blocked filter, shame really as it went really well. Didn't realise it was that till the end of the day, cleaned it and drove the 150milea back to Bristol without missing a beat.

What were you in?

None, but I've got an SS exhaust.

I can guarantee with an SS exhaust, anyone with an LS7 will pass IVA noise tests, any track day noise test and not lose any power or torque with this.

Getting an LS7 quiet is not too difficult (if starting from scratch) it just seems a lot of people believed Kyles stories of them being a nightmare, when in reality he just didn't how.

thats unfair Craig!!

where do you think Steve got the idea for the link pipe from??

I had major issues getting LS3's and LS7's through on 2" primaries until we used link pipes, it took a lot of experimenting to sort out, you just benefitted from the information.

Im glad you are enjoying your car. Hopefully see you on track soonsmile

Didn't Steve do a link pipe for Waynes?

The reason mine has a cross over is because I wanted it, Steve designed the exhaust, none of that system has anything to do with you, so please don't imply any of it was your idea!

I was in the Orange RX7 with an LS3 in it.
I had a great time, even if I was melting in the heat.
I'm so glad I got the right car, I was thinking afterwards "God I hope that wasn't a Saleen or something and am about to get the flaming of my life"
I was pretty sure it was an Ultima, jut not 100%. It looked different from other Ultima's I've seen, different lights...well light and longer.
I love the attention to detail and those lovely split rims.
I hope to see it again at another track day one day, and pherhaps you can take me for a spin in it.
Taz.

that was a long time ago, before you started fiddling with Ults, Kyle wink
so I would consider it a fair comment by Deadscoob, and would suggest it was you who benefitted from the information.

Thanks for the comments Taz, it's still very much a work in progress but I want to be driving it not polishing it, so have lots of things to do when it's put away for winter! Am more and more tempted to keep the body in that finish... smile

Your RX7 looked great, really nicely done and very very quick!

Will defo take you for a spin if I bump into you at another trackday, would like to go out in yours too.

Russ, you need to get on track too! wink

I know what you mean about you'd rather be driving it than washing it. I'm not a patter and stroker either.
