hi
had a new battery 10 months ago which is now leaking,

No fault of mine but manufacturer say they have never seen one leak so wont cover under warranty as feel terminals been too tight.. Not possible as 1/ they strip the tiny thred If I did and 2/ there is a spring washer I use because of point 1..

Im being messed arround like you would not believe, cant even get hold of them half of the time. so looking at a replacement...What does everyone use please.

I cant name and shame so please dont ask which manufacturer I used, professional.. However as my job is a Car Service Manager and I deal with warranty every day, I will say their service, communication and warranty is very unprofessional and not worth the weight of a gell battery.

Another weekend the stuck in the garage after bad customer service!!!!! and being let down by another no factory infeariour part

That is embarrassingly bad service, and I could have a good guess as to who you are talking about. To me it is amazing that people are not in the slightest bit interested in offering good customer service, in these times when there is supposedly no money about.

I would love to hear why, if the terminals were too tight, the battery would leak?!

get an optima yellow top, I had mine deep discharged with a faulty leak circuit in the car and it was dead afterwards.
They replaced it without question and it was entirely my fault.

Yep. Optima yellow top, I had my doubts but even with my low-ish charge rate it has not failed to start the car,
I contacted the company I bought it from when I thought there may be a problem with it, they were happy to deal with me.
Yellow top YTR27J. It is the biggest that will fit behind the steering rack and you will need to fabricate a new battery clamp.

My experience with the Yellow Top Optima battery has not been good. I have gone through two of them in 12 months. Had trouble with the charging system, and found that once they go down on voltage, you may as well just throw them away. Also, the charge showing on the voltmeter even when they were new was always low for charging - around 12 - 12.5 volts.
I changed over to a Delco DEK 51R which fits into the same battery holder as the Optima battery, and it's a hole new world! Voltmeter shows a charge of 14 volts, which it should, and the car has never been a problem to start. This battery has a CCA capacity of 450, and has no problem starting an LS 7.
I would strongly recommend looking into the Delco battery from my experiences.

I now have a Varley Red Top 60 which has no problem what-so-ever keeping everything running even with all the electrical bits and bobs on.

I still have my Varley Red Top 40 if you need to borrow a battery in a hurry and want to collect it.

I won't be about tomorrow (trackday) but I could leave it out for you. It will need a charge so let me know before 10.30pm and I will stick it on overnight.

I've got a factory supplied odyssey extreme 40, although ive only done 1000 miles, I've had it I think 9 months testing electrics and engine before iva and it's been great. Good price from the factory too.

suggest you get a trikkle charger as gel batterys loose their memory if the voltage drops... They should be kept topped up at all times..
