Quick explanatory note from Ted Marlow:

A quick question on technique with 0-100-0 runs. Do you left foot brake to save the time coming fully off the throttle and applying the brake? You wouldn't need the clutch, you could just stall the engine to a standstill.

i think he must have had a long chain tied to a lamp post, and a large boat anchor! PS Did all 4 wheels lock-up at the end? hence the sideways slip at the end of the vid??

I left foot braked when I did the challenge.... it was very easy to pick up but in reality with practice it didn't make that much difference.

Thats roughly 2.0 seconds on the 60ft times, so you could knock off 0.3 of that at the Drag track, as we've done 1.7 sec's on a sticky track......... So we could get under 10......Now that's the next target ah Richard M !!!!

The pod is full of drivers trying to do a sub 10 second quarter.
Wonder how they would feel about a 10 second 0-100-0 without even reaching the timeing lights.

Deducting Richards very fast reaction time the actual braking time to stop from 100mph is a superb 4.062 secs! Those specifically designed UIltima AP brakes brakes are a must have option!

BUT I think the point was that they did it on the same surface as everyone else.... so it was comparable regardless of how slippery the surface was. and I can assure you Brunters is a very slippery surface.


You should also note that he accelerated to 101.2mph.... not much I know, but worth a few hundreths.

So the perfect 0-100-0 has not been reached in that car.....
I think the point has been made though, would you not agree?

The McLaren F1 didn't set its record time at Bruntingthorpe somewhere much grippier.
