Seems decent value. The hp & torque quoted seems a a bit wrong for a 377 (400 block with a 350 crank?) That short stroke combo is highly unlikely to make over 500hp at 5500 rpm through a dual plane inlet, but you never know. My main concern was that I recall seeing a wrecked silver car on the market a year or more ago and I wondered if this was that car? Anyone know anything about it?

"GMAN"s red GTR that set the initial round or records had a 377 motor in it. short stroke allowed it to rev harder i think. he also had an appropriate cam and head package. think he had some heads with a reduced valve angle or something. the posts are probably still hear if u go back far enough

Yeah 377s are usually built to rev, that's why I question the figure. I wouldn't build a 377 to peak at 5500 and I would use a dual plane inlet on an engine built to rev either. 512 hp is a very difficult figure to hit at 5500 rpm with only 377 cubes to work with. Anyway i'm more interested in the car.. If it isn't the silver car that got wrecked a year or two ago then then price seems fair enough. Would love to hear from anyone who knows this car.

Dont know the car but have built a 377 @ 520 odd genuine ponies.... at around 5800-5900 and with a dual plane.... On this capacity and rpm range the dual plane gives better torque although maybe 5-10 peak horse less than single plane ... low to mid manners are much improved too... persuading the owners its the correct thing to do is the hard part.. their engines dont mind too much.

G luck.
