Hi... Has anyone tried this , a Hayabusa engine on a Gtr... In know there is one with two engines ...
Yesterday I saw a Westfield here locally that at first glance I thought it was a big bike but then it was a kit car with a great sound from the exhaust.!!

GTR is too heavy for hyabusa engine to haul effectively
You really need sub 500kg's.

Mr. Allanson (Zcars) did a twinHayabusa turbo Sports. Not very practical IMHO but a true piece of engineering.

An LS 3 with G50 is around 280 Kilos given the factory claim of 990 Kilos for a GTR with chevy
Then you are starting at 700Kilos+ minimum, then you need to factor the weight of the busa lump at circa 80 Kilos
so 780 KGs starting weight, no frills, no air con etc.
Even if you turbocharged the Busa it would still be no match for even a SBC.
Though it might carry the speed a bit better around somewhere like Anglesey, at Snetterton it would be left for dead.
And then there's the reliability issues for a tuned motor.

One engine for the rear and the other one for the front drive.

I suspect that zcars Ultima is not a lot lighter than an LS engined car and a bh to keep tuned/working well.

An impressive piece of engineering if it works.

870kg theoretical but just look at all the paraphanalia to hold the engines down + front axle etc.
It wouldn't surprise me if it were a little heavier.
Engineering at its best though.

Busa engine is 92kgs...so 2 engines is very similar to a LS motor. G50 porker + flywheel clutch 94 kgs... 2 diff's 2 props 2 extra drive shafts 2 turbos what seems like alot more plumbing etc has got to be more than that... I cant see it's lighter than a normal V8 never have. Great that someone had a go and brave enough to try it but the math never seemed right to me only the 4WD made sense...

1 bike engine will not cut it in terms of the weight it has to drag along as pointed out, a 'Busa V8 might be an option? http://www.h1v8.com/page/page/1562068.htm
Also think: Radical SR8 (which uses this lump http://www.rpeonline.co.uk/categories/RPE-RP-V8/ {, could be based on Hartley'sdevelopment?})

I think the credit should go to Russell Savoury, he originally designed a V8 using two Yamaha Genesis blocks on a common crankcase now used in the Levante Caterham and the Atom V8 although it now uses Busa top ends I believe.
