Black Bonding Adhesive used to bond grills

Does anyone know the brand and composition of the adhesive (silicone or other)used to bond the grills to the body?

I have used Sikaflex 221 which appears to work well (also good for lots of other general sealing/adhesive purposes)

Any make of Polyurethane adhesive/sealer seems to work fine. The one in my gun at present is PU-FLEX by Granville. I pick mine up from any nearby motor factors.

The stuff that came with my GTR is WURTH Bond and seal - the North American version from Wurth is Glue and Seal.

By the time I was ready to install the headlight covers, I was out of the material that Ultima had shipped. Checking with Wurth USA, the same material was, if I remember correctly about $38 a tube, with a minimum number of tubes they would ship. Jeff Schwartz purchased a case of a similar item from them called Adhesivlex which was about 1/3 the price, and he was good enough to send me a couple of tubes. It is also a Urethane seam sealer. I used this material to install the covers June of 2003. I noticed recently that the covers were coming loose in a few places, and this past Saturday, I was able to very easily lift them off. I'm sure that on the next drive, they would have fallen off. Since we had a show to go to on Sunday,the following day, I re-installed them using black Permatex high temp. gasket maker available from your local auto store. So far the only problem I see, is the black is really more of a dark gray which is showing through in a few places where some of the black paint I had applied to the lense had wiped off when I cleaned the surfaces with a solvent before applying the Sealer. The Permatex was very easy to apply, and right now, the lenses seem to be attached quite secure.

The Wurth "Glue and Seal" - The North American version of the stuff that came from the factory is readily available from Wurth here in Canada. The cartridges are only $20CDN ($15.50USD) each and the head office in Toronto has shipped to me in Edmonton, so I am assuming they will ship to the US as well.

They also told me that this product is available in several colors - Black, grey, white etc. for those of you that want to color co-ordinate your panel bonding. (just kidding)

Thanks for the update on the adhesive. Will try them in Canada. The info I got was from New Jersey.
Just looked through some of the photos on your website, and noticed something.
The Delrin bushings you purchased from me, go as a pair in the lower mounting of the rear upright. The factory supplied bushings appear to work fine in all the other areas. From your photos, it appears that you have installed them using one of the red bushings in other places.
