Another new Ultima

Hello to you all, this is my first post on here, I've been looking at the Ultima for a couple of years but the first car I actually saw a black GTR reg X10 --- was at the le mans classic this year, but I didn't get to speak to the owner as he was never about. Then I got talking to a guy at the Ipswich Street Rod Nationals (sorry can't remember your name if your on here) nice red GTR got to sit in the car (thanks again) So this led to the factory visit 10 weeks ago.......... Yes you've gussed it it arrives on the 18th of Dec. Been looking at posts on here for some time so thought I should introduce myself as I'm sure I will be picking you're brains for answers to problems as they arise. Did Ted give you the test fright when you visited the Factory??
Where in Essex are you as I am between Royston and Cambridge if you want to have a chat.
Have you built a car before (AK Cobra???)?
Remember to enjoy the experience and don't rush it. There will probably be things you change your mind about as you go along.

To answer your questions, yes I did get the Ted drive what an experience!, I had taken the wife along with me and was going to say to Ted to take it easy so as not to put her off the idea, but as it turned out she didnt take the ride.
Im based in Essex not very far from juntion 29 of the M25 so a little way off from you Paul
The Cobra was not built by me im affraid, I must admit I did wonder about building one of these to my own spec but decided later on a GT40 or the Ultima, the GT40 failed at the very first hurdle when I sat in a couple and my head wouldnt allow the door to close (my height not the size of my head)
So yes i'm going to build the Ultima rather than buy ready built.
And yes what a Christmas Present, I know where im going to be over Christmas.
As for Spec well its going to be pretty much to factory standard I dont want to get too involved or over complicate things, but have gone for the AP brakes and suspension upgrade. I like the basic look of the interior but think I will try and sort some indicator stalks, I see on here that MK4 escort stalks have been used by some of you. I am very concerned about the front of the car bottoming on my drive as it has a steep rise up off the road so will probably need hydraulic lifters, again I think i've seen some fitted on here somewhere (if all else fails the front garden gets landscaped!!). The engine.... well im looking at the LS7 640hp from AS, I know theres a lot of talk on here as to the cost from AS but it does sound as though their's will be the easiest fit (all the right bits and wiring etc) at least thats what im hoping.
The colour, I cant make my mind up so the body is not even on order yet, I think its between the Yellow and the Red, I dont really want to paint it at least not to start with. Have seen posts on here mentioning the Red fadeing and also black swirls appearing, although I dont remember seeing any evidence of this on yours.
