Ok, I'll answer your lonely post.
I haven't booked yet, but if I have time, I'll come.

Storer, do you come with or without Ultima?

I'm booked! Unless the weather is awful, I'm looking forwards to cruising down in the Can Am smile

Poor choice of words 356speedster to be cruising down to Le Mans, especially in a Can-Am
lets hope you get lucky on the way down ha ha

sorry couldn't resist

I am planning to do the trip in the Ultima GTR with my son trying to keep up in his Porsche!!! There is no way I will be "cruising" - I think it's against the law in France too!!!

If the weather forecast is terrible for the 6 days then I might change to the Merc SL.

Cheeky beggar!! OK, I should have thought about that better, I suppose, d'oh! Nevermind, I'm looking forwards to enjoying a nice drive to Le Mans, within the speed limits and hopefully avoiding all Gendarmes!

Just wondering if anyone has attempted traveling by eurotunnel in an ultima, i know they would probably not fit on the top deck due to the gradiant but was wondering how tight it would be driving onto the shuttle.

Cheers Karl.

I've done it twice by the tunnel, the guys there are good at spotting you, they divert you to the single deckers with the coaches and trucks, only a a two inch lip to get over and side rails to worry about.
Providing the costs stack up I don't think that I would bother with a ferry again.

Done it at least half a dozen times. Much less likely to damage underside than on ferry. Last time I had a carriage to myself until a Veyron pulled in behind me! Driven by a Russian who was barely in his twenties! Whats more he had 2 and a Carrera GT for a change! He liked the Ultima though and was surprised at how close behind I was in the drag race onto the M25!
