The only reason to remove the windscreen is if it's broken?

I did get a roll of thin fuse like wire in my screen kit.
Apparently you drill a small hole at the top between screen and body, insert wire, tie a piece of wood to each end and pull round screen like a cheese wire.

The factory allow a whole day for a screen change.

Get a screen fitting company to do it. They have all the required tools. The main one would be best described as a kitchen knife with the last 12mm bent over at a right angle. There is a hole through the blade about 10mm up the blade from the bend. A 200mm piece of steel braided wire comes from the hole to a wooden handle.
The tip of the blade is pushed into the mastic until it is between screen and body. You then pull the blade through the mastic joint using the wire and handle. The wire and handle unsure that the pull is right down close to the working part of the tool. It's bl**dy hard work.

Pay someone else to do it.

Thanks guys. Reason I need to remove it is to gain better access to the top and edges of the dash for recovering and also to access the A/C unit......1 x piece of rubbish down air vent = jammed fan and blown fuses.....another item on the endless list?

If you remove this windshield plan on it breaking. I really think that you will have zero chance of removing it and replacing it without damage.
