Ultima v Stealth B6 question
Discussion

Hi, I stumbled on this and thought I would ask a silly question...
I love ultima's and hope to build one at some point soon in my automotive life time, however, and this might be the silly question, could it make sense to buy a Stealth B6, and work to make it road legal? I am assuminging a stealth is a rebadged ultima? This one seems better spec'd v a factory ultima
Cheers

you assume wrong, a B6 is in no way a rebadged Ultima!
It is FAR , FAR more race orientated, it shares the same basic DNA, but it is actually more a further development of the old LM prosport, NOT the Ultima.
There already are sevreal road legal B6 cars, so getting one road leagl is possible, but there would be a bit of work involved in putting a full race car on the road.
I personally have no problem with driving something full race spec on the road, but others would not like the idea of the total lack of comfort of any kind and the noise - so just be careful what you wish for....
I am quite mad however - I have this as the opinion of more than one person!

Hasn't this car been for sale since the dawn of time? I remember looking at pics of it over 12mth ago when I was planning my interior build. Great looking car, the only thing I don't like about it really is the slightly odd bottom feeder fish-like snout.
i've got my race car through IVA, just got to make the car fit the reg's, but yes as said before it is a big compromise as a road car. i treat it as a track car that can be used on the road, not the other way round.
rather noisy on long runs, suspension (what little it has ) bit harsh on back road
still great fun though
only concern for me would be ( if memory serves me right ) it has the gearbox as a stressed member with the suspension coming off the box, mine was like this and reverted to rebuilding the chassis with suspension mounts from it for road use, didn't fancy hitting a pot hole and the gearbox sh*tting itself
