Gary,
I have just bought the new Road Angel 2 from an advert on this site. It's eventually going in the GTR.
It arrived today and took me about 5 mins to fit.
Give me a couple of days and I'll give you another update.
First time it went off today my son complained it was too loud but I was just happy it worked
Plenty of cameras on the way into work over the next couple of days to test properly.

I have the Mk 2.
Seems to work fine. Thankfully not had the laser alert go off as I doubt there is much you could do about it.
My Stack dash in the GTR reads spot on but I have found that all the modern cars I have put it in (Hire cars) read around 5mph high. Is this some devious way to keep speeds down.

I thought those were illegal over there?

nah. they're ok as they just warn the driver of a road hazard... the government kinda shot themselves by saying the speed scameras were there to slow drivers down at 'accident blackspots' so using the Road Angels is just giving information.
They're illegal in parts of Europe though.

My VDO Speedo in Ultima also deadly accurate but thats coz we calibrate them ourselves. I guess production cars follow the rule that speedos can read 20% high but 0% low so always err on the high side to avoid litigation etc. My Bimmer reads 5% high on speedo compared to trip computer, I assume trip computer calibrated properly.
I have the Snooper which generally happy with. Gives accurate read-out on speed and was suprised how accurate the Ultima speedo is. Only complaint that when it counts down distance on a warning spot it drops the speedo reading from the screen. I think if the road angel had been out when I bought last yaer I would have gone for that.
Road Angel is very good...the "best" IMHO is the Road Pilot from Morpheous (www.morpheous.co.uk).
For ultimate protection you need the Road Pilot AND the LRC-100 laser blinder.
I've got this setup on my road car
and the LRC-100 has saved me twice in a year.
We have the Road Angel in our company van so that's how I can evaluate the two
Laser alert is hopeless, by the time it alerts you you're nicked!
