I was out in the Can Am this evening, about 16 degrees and even I had the AC on!! I reckon you'd cook in a GTR without it.

I've not got a/c - it is for softies smile

Yes I do get warm, but occasionally I even have to use the heater, although obviously I can't admit it - they are for softies too!

It should be a compulsory "extra". I remember a former owner (Keith, aka "ditto") driving back from a very warm factory open day in his non air conditioned GTR. He thought he was going to pass out from heat exhaustion! He retro fitted it soon after.

I am pretty sure that with current temps around 35 degrees you will probably faint in a GTR since a canam without side windows is already making you sweat like crazy !

If you have to take one big decision after the one going to buy the kit, get the aircon. You will never regret it and particularly in a GTR!

I'll see and raise re the AC.
Here in the warmer parts of the U.S. the stock AC/ventilation system is not adequate to keep the driver/passenger compartment from overheating. When it's 85-105 degrees outside, sunny and potentially humid, most U.S. owners complain of extreme discomfort.
I purchased my car used from a brilliant fellow in Florida who had the foresight to add extra cooling capabilities in the way of an extra AC condensor and a set of vents in the dash that can direct air directly to the driver and passenger, along with a bigger/better fan (I believe). It's fantastic. Though still warm from all of the sunlight in the cockpit, the air remains cool and comfortable.
It's the only mod of it's type I've ever seen and it should be the standard model for all cars. I hear people saying 'soft!' but if it enables me to drive more days per year here in CA, I'm all for it.

stock A/c? yes, vents in the dash? duh, where else would you put them. interior at 105 degrees? certainly not on par with a luxury sedan but not uncomfortable. As I have said before the only thing that is a bit of a pain concerning A/C in the Ultima is if radiator in the engine compartment gets truly heat soaked then it takes three or four minutes to regain good performance. For those of you in jolly old if your A/C is not preforming adequately for your weather, take the car to a A/C guy because something is out of calibration. By the way the valve that is right next to the heater cooler box in the interior is adjustable and if its set incorrectly you will not get good results from the A/C. lEE

Dan: The sensor which is actually a pressure adjustment device sets in the line coming out of the evaporator some are adjustable including the one that was provided to me by the factory. Some time ago I noticed that the cold air was not as cold as it might be. I tOok the car to an A/C specialist and he indicated that the valve was opening to soon. It fell to me to remove the valve, what a pain that was, he adjusted the valve and all is well. Lee By the way the web site for the picture is down I will look at it later
