Hello,

Unique car registration like the Ultima in Europe is not an easy task. I'm located in Switzerland, but most of the European rules apply here. As the Ultima doesn't have an official certificate of conformity (CoC) from EU, specific tests are required to have the car registered.

Here below is a list of those specific tests which must be done by official test laboratories (like the TüV in Germany):

- Noise and emissions (EURO5b compliance needed since 2013), the easy one!
- Chassis structure stiffness analysis to determine the maximum weight and weight on the front and back axle.
- Security belt anchor points, resistance.
- Protection of occupants in a frontal collision (Directive 96/79 EEC or Regulation 94)
- Protection of occupants in a side collision (Directive 96/27 EEC or Regulation 95)
- Protection of pedestrians in the event of a frontal collision, new since 2013 (Directive 78/2009)
- Antilock brake system (ABS) and an advanced emergency braking, new requirement since 2013 (Directive 71/320 EEC or Regulation 13 or 13-H ECE)

The goal of this topic is to create a database and experience sharing of persons who did it and persons who are in the process of registering an Ultima. The sharing could be information to complete the list, addresses of official laboratory, costs of the tests and even test results.

Regards,

UltimaCH

Hello and welcome to the PH Ultima forum. It's a great and the only place to be to talk Ultima.

I'm in Switzerland and building a Can-Am which will be road registered here. To my knowledge there is only ONE other Ultima (Can-am) officially registered and running on Swiss plates.

If you want more info, send me a PM

You can always call the Factory as they may have knowledge of what is required for your country.

UltimaCH, we are already in touch and exchanging email many times per week! I just joined the forum.

The factory can of course help with every technical question regarding their product, but no test results or recognised certificate are unfortunately available, such as TüV reports. The goal would be that the persons who registered a car in Germany, Austria, France, Italy etc would share their experience, the process that they had to follow and the tests that were required on their car.
