LS7 oil filter

Should be simple but the only one I can find is a K&N filter which has a nut head for easy removal. Good idea but the bottom of the filter is very close to the chassis rail.

Can anyone advise the best one to buy - ideally one that can be fitted without having to jack the engine up?!!

Ordered my filters from the factory. Reasonable price and I know it should fit easily.

Standard filter doesn't protrude below the sump so why fiddle with it?

What do you do about the fitting on the engine? There is only 1 option that we have found which is ~$200 from the US for the engine fitting - the others all hang down too far and interfere with the chassis rail

A remote filter increases the number of places for leaks...............why go there?

Not seen this - but similar kits I have looked at have the output from the adapter facing downwards, and any hoses then clash with the chassis rail.

On mine I found a nice slim sideways in/out adapter to replace the remote housing adapter which had a ridiculous alloy bend that had been fitted hanging below the bottom chassis rail!!
If you can't fit oil hoses and fittings without causing leaks then best left alone.
