steve's mirror on my canam
Discussion
Finally got my ass up and assembled and fitted Steve's mirrors that really make the car
look better. They are made from carbon and not the cheapest but fully electrically adjustable
and not to difficult to fit. I think the factory should team up with steve again and sell these
mirrors as an option. My other canam factor door mirrors are creating cracks on the bottom of the door
for various reasons. So I hope these will give me less headaches and you will not need to turn your
head with Steves solution.

Spatz: I think it might have been your green Can Am that I saw at the factory a while back. In person that color is absolutely my favorite on the car even more than the aw-sum yellow that is on my GTR. Please tell my that you are at least considering painting your rims yellow or perhaps red anything but black or polished. Good luck o the build. Lee

Is being outboard of bodywork a problem with IVA with British builders? Saying that very nice, I'm the biggest sucker out there for Carbon mods!
The wording in the manual is far from clear. It is my understanding, from my conversation with a tester, that if the mirror is outside the line of the vehicle it must have a springback mechanism such that you can manually click it back into place without is needing further adjustment. This is not, however, what is stated in the manual.

11.
The obligatory offside mirror fitted to a vehicle with a right hand or central driving position must be adjustable from the driving seat. Alternatively, if knocked out of alignment, it must be capable of being returned to its former position without the need for adjustment.
This could be read to mean that the mirror does not have to be adjustable from the drivers position provided it can be sprung back.
Very odd.

You can see what they are trying to say. They should have said “Also” instead of “Alternatively”. Unfortunately, the poor grasp of English evident in several places has produced the confusion you mention.
