All, considering the transaxles are stock and in the same condition can anyone set the approximate value of a G50-01, G50-03 and G50-52? I would like to know the cost difference between these transaxles.

IMO G50/50 and G50/52 would be the highest price ie. most desirable as they have the 9" Crown wheel, higher top gear ratio and usually a plate LSD.
I'd guess between 3-5K (maybe more) dependant on build spec and mileage.
As for the others mentioned, limited desirability, probably worth more to a Porsche owner.
Personally I wouldn't use one in an Ultima.
Some newer boxes can be desirable also but shifter mechs can be prohibitively expensive.

If you want an approximate value for the boxes mentioned

G50/01 and G50/03 would be between £1500 and £2500 depending on condition.

G50/52 between £4000 and £6000 again depending on condition

The G50/52 would be my preference as I had a G50/01 prior to the rebuild and now run the G50/52.

Was reading this and GarethGTR responses on the 'why haven't the two ultimas sold' thread. I have the G96 6 speed box... No LSD...... I have found this to be a pretty good option.

Without LSD grip is still absolutely fabulous and breaking traction does come quite progressively and controllably. There is no tendency for the front to be pushed wide in corners as is clearly a tendency with an LSD set up straight from a 911. The boxes are very reasonably priced and mine has taken a whole bunch of road use with Supercharged torque with no complaints... Although I did find that the updated Porsche clutch and pressure plate was needed to prevent clutch slip with such levels of torque (600 ft lb). Also the centre shift with Porsche mechanism and cables gives very production car feel.

The only negative is the overall gearing giving 180 mph at 6700 red line in 6th, which is better than most G50s but not as good as some....... Although I see CMS are now offering a 3:1 cwp for this box..... Taking top speed to something over 205mph..... And probably more relaxed motorway driving.

..... Anyway.... Something to consider...

I run a G50/52, When I got it, the LSD was almost locked solid, previous owner wanted to do high speed airfield runs etc.
I was going to replace the LSD with an ATB but dislike the lack of off throttle feedback associated with these, in the end I had the pre- load adjusted to suit the weight of the car, best thing I ever did.
I'd have to agree that with the pre-load set for a heavier car it made things "entertaining".
My only gripe is even geared for 210 in top it could do with being geared taller, especially for the longer M/way driving, God knows how I'd feel with a box geared for 160 which some are fitted with.

You'd need a quiter exhaust, motorway driving does get a bit noisy and tiring, 70mph in mine equates to 3000rpm (getrag), biggest thing is fuel consumption, now I have an LS3 I get low twenties not the low to mid teens I was getting with the small block.
I would like the C&P that CMS are offering not too sure on the cost of getting it over and finding someone to fit it?
I've spent too much on mine (flywheel, clutch, adaptor plate etc) to swap it for a G50 so the C&P seems a road to go down.
Group buy??
