Can anyone recommend a good supplier for the lighter sockets as I'm going to fit 2 in the car and want to get them asap.

cheers

I've fitted a block of 4 under the dash.
Not found a use for them all yet.

I have fitted a single socket from Halfords. Looks good and the illumination works! Price was about £7 which is a tad cheaper than the equivalent from VWP...if you need the cigarette lighter..which I didn't!

You're right about not having enough sockets Steve. A few weeks ago I was doing some wideband O2 datalogging in my brothers car which only has a single socket. I ended up with an unholy mess in the passenger footwell with a mains inverter, patress, 12V mains transformer with cigaretter lighter socket for the data logger and all the usual laptop gubbins. Got some pretty shocked/wierd looks from passers by as the car is LHD and it must look a little strange with some guy tapping away at a laptop in the drivers seat...

Given the choice I'd fit the newer DIN style sockets. They are much neater and more secure than the big cigarette lighter things we usually have to use. Can't take as much current though.

Apologies for resurrecting this old thread but where did you put your lighter sockets?

That's the next job so I'd like to see where people have put them.

Thanks

Car is a LHD, and lighter/12V supply plug, is situated on right side of car by passengers knee.

Thanks Jack,

Job done, just need to buy some extra wire to run one of the cables to the opposite side of the car.
