Well now that I have a fast car I thought I might return to competition, so some sprints and hillclimbs are in order.

Does anyone know where to go what clubs etc

www.ukmotorsport.com is normally a good starting point but seems to be down for maintenance at the moment. There are quite a few speed championships in your area. The ACSMC are a good starting point (go to www.acsmc.org.uk/ and follow the link to speed competitions), but you might also find the CCC Speed Championship and All Circuits Sprint Championship interesting. They have a lot of overlap and take in a lot of the same events.

good on you GMan, that's an excellent attitude, I can't complement you enough ....

On a personal note, whenever I've been involved in motorsport, it didn't matter how quick the thing I was driving/riding was, everyone ELSE seemed to have something just as quick, advantage negated !

MAC (Midland Automobile Club) run Shelsley and are an active club.

Bugatti Owners Club ditto for Prescott (you don`t have to own a Bugatti!)

BARC (British Automobile Club) run multiple hillclimbs and sprints all over the place.

OR

HSA (Hillclimb and Sprint Association) would be a good general start.

I did the TVRCC Speed Championship this year, which is embedded in a couple of other championships, principally the Midland Speed Championship;

Both of them well attended with a wide range of kit - seeing an Ultima (or two?) would be a treat.

Does anyone have the blue book handy, what are the sprint ing and hill climbing regs re roll cages, particularly if you don't have an rac msa compliant cage

Optional for a roadgoing car competing in road legal condition. Mandatory in the non-roadgoing classes. When mandatory, has to comply with the MSA regs.
