Insurance - yet again! - I know..

I have insurance with MSM, £500 a year for 3.5k miles, which is ok, but I tend not to use the car in the winter for 3 reasons: 1) No roof so its cold and wet, 2) Tends to around in circles in the wet 3) I am a girly southerner and getting old! So, Looking for an insurance company who will do a 6-8 month policy, with just a "laid up" policy in the winter. MSM said NO. So, for 6 months £500 is a bit expensive! Tried to keep stopping and starting the insurance but they wont do that either. Anyone know of an other ideas??

I've had a similar problem with Sports bikes in the winter, (English winters on the sea-front are bloody freezin! ) If you pay your insurance monthly, then once the winter comes pay your bank a visit and ask them to stop paying your insurance company.

Does the 6month policy still get you your NCB?

For the performance of an Ultima, a grand a year isn't thaaat bad... comparing to say a Ferrari or Lamborghini...

or is it because its a self-build the premiums should be a lot lower?
