I have seen this unit as a possible alternative to the one supplied by the factory.

Has anybody come across this product or alternatives to the factory supplied units. It seems like a good alternative as long as it fits.

Sir: I hope you didn't think that my post was aimed only at you. I myself and many others have fallen into the idea that we could save money by substituting parts from other suppliers besides the factory and save money. I think this is a fools errand, specifically if you are a first time builder. Let one little thing be wrong with the replaced part and watch all the savings fly out the door. Folks that have built an Ultima before, yes, maybe they will see some changes that will work. An example would be the brake lines. Here in the States where the government doesn't have a digital camera up our tail pipe during and forever after the build I would suggest doing your own hard-lines. In England that might be a bit more problematic. But my best input to anyone besides a very competent builder is do the car to the factory spec, then as time goes on and you see things that might be improved give it a shot. You will get the car finished quicker with a lot less frustration. Lee
