Hi smile

we are presently struggling to get the silicone hose over the top connector at a LS7-engine. Even with warming it up, it just won't get over the rib...

Any hints?

Think I used a bit of silicon spray on mine.

Slippery if you get it on your hands though.

Not a lot of room in there!

If I remember correctly some of my hoses needed trimming a bit - I think this was included in the LS7 supplement in the build manual.

Shouldn't that hose be tapered (different diameters at each end?) A larger spigot on the engine than the Swirl Pot?
Or am I thinking of something else?

We tried using a hairdryer, additionally we will check with some lubricant. However, it's gonna be difficult!

@Paul
You are right, there is a spacer between two different sized hoses (the pic is from the manual).

You will find all hoses fit a lot easier with a little lubricant. I use a little wd40 or silicone spray. You may also find that carefully creating a chamfer on the inside neck of the pipe (just a couple of mm trimmed off) with a sharp knife will help start the pipe.

If you have the long snout on the waterpump with the two ribs on it you can cut off the first one - total pain.

So I bought some silicone spray and used the hair dryer because of the very low temperatures here (8°C). Finally it worked smile

@macgtech
Yes, the factory told me to cut off some cm there, however for me it was necessary to get more space between the hose and the glass fibre wand of the cockpit...

Thank you all for your help smile
