American Speed have 2 new engines for the Ultima, both are 1000hp (yikes !!!)
the 2nd and 3rd in the listings

Would guess they are using either a whipple 4.0 ltr blower or one of the bigger Kenne Bell units (3.3 or 4.2). Either would be monster bits of kit. He interesting to see where they mount the heat exchange / low temp rad(s).

I called , they said they were backlogged 2-4 month wait minimum. From experience when a engine shop says 2-4 it means 3-8 :-)

...and apart from boring bragging rights, is all that extra power actually usable in these cars?

OK if you are going to drag it, and even then there is a shed load of extra things....

At between 350-600 bhp. these things are quite lethal, exciting, and more than most of us would struggle to tame!

There is a 1000bhp LS2 on eBay at the moment in the states at a lot less money, also reg no.V88 GTR at £325.00 or offers.

This twice - though I've got bored of saying it over the years smile

Buy build one with 350-400bhp, tell everyone it's got 1000bhp (and be able to sit in heavy traffic without fear of the temp gauge). Job done.

I think a std ls7 is ok for road use, but more for track use is nice.

No problem with CCI, the quote is around £700 iirc. smile
