Making new rear pipes to replace my track day silencers.

My mates have said that my car is too quiet, so I have gone from three boxes to one!
Yet to test the volume, but the iPhone app thought the old system was 92db.

A day of learning how to tig weld stainless too.

The welds are not perfect but they are not too bad, so I decided to polish them.

The repairs to the rear clip are complete. All I have got to do now is paint it!!!!

Yep, first SS tig. And the most tig welding I have ever done.

Used to do a little gas welding years ago but mig has taken over for most things these days.

Quite impressed with the tig though and intend to do quite a bit more in future.

The 92 was the iPhone app reading. Bedford Autodrome recorded 98db which was what I was aiming for so that I could do most tracks.

No idea what it will end up but it should be quite a bit louder. Still a child at heart. biggrin

Thanks chaps.

Exhausts now complete and fitted. Sound much better but not tested db level yet as the car is still on the lift.

Also fitted an aluminium bulkhead just behind the radiator to help keep the battery and brake fluid reservoir cool(er) and help with the heat transmission into the cabin.

Daughter played with her horse (I watched for a bit), wife went to a dressage event and walked our dogs.

Quite an enjoyable weekend for all concerned, especially as the weather played ball too.

Good idea for the extra alloy bulkhead. I have already fitted that type of bulkhead in my build wink

Edited for correction

No, but I know a man who can. He would probably need to borrow my polisher though!!!
