Has anyone used the Renault V6 Turbo, engine and box
from a Renault 25 ?
Any pictures of installation anywhere ?
Not everyone can afford a horny Chevy V8 !
Not the Renault, but a guy in South Africa has installed an Alfa V6 with twin turbos. Can't remember which 'box he was running. I can't find any details at the moment ..... but someone will post some!

There is a write up about this Alfa powered Ultima on the Ultimaclub website. www.ultimaclub.com/members/Features.htm I'm not sure if it is still the case but this info was previously only accessible to members.
Wasn't that collection of Renault bits what was originally fitted to Ultimas before Ted and other adventurous souls started sticking Chevy's in?
To be honest it seems daft. Like Jeff says you can pick up a stock SB Chevy for very little money, even in the UK, that will outstrip rival budget power plants like Rover V8s, etc both in performance and cost. The Porsche gearbox, which is very robust compared with the Renault one, can be had from a breakers for very little money. To get a car you're not ashamed off you'll probably be spending circa £30k on the rest of the bits and pieces any way...
Also never underestimate the community and factory support you'll lock yourself out from by going your own way...not that going your own way is a bad thing. Most
cars are the result of doing just that!

Renault are no longer supporting the the engine, you can't even get a new oil filler cap from them.
My V6 will be binned at some point (probably when it dies) and then I'll put a proper engine in it, as I should have done originally.

If you want a twin turbo 6 cylinder power plant for your Ultima why not take a leaf out of the Miller Team Racing handbook. They are running at least one Ultima GTR in a US racing series with a modified twin turbo Porsche Flat-6.
Whole idea is remeniscent of the Porsche 962

is their engine turboed? i looked at the site a while ago and thought they where running it N/A.
if you fancy a really powerful V6 that might work in the ultima, take a look in this months issue of Fast Ford (stop laughing) at the dragster in there. over 1300bhp at the rear wheals and over 4.0ltr! detune that thing and install smaller blowers and you could have yourself a winner.
thanks Chris.
