Chassis protection

Just a quick question regarding the bare metal near the chassis number. The area where the chassis number is stamped is bare metal. Should this be painted/ covered to prevent corrosion or is it already treated and should be left alone?

I would recommend some clear varnish to cover the bare metal. That should be sufficient. If you see some rust forming there later, it's easily corrected as access is easy.

The factory clear coat it before delivery. Have a really close look, the 1mm of overcoat next to the bare metal bit will be clear coated too.
