Just wanted to know what the current thinking is on tyres as for me no track work at all and so the Kumho's not ideal. I was thinking the spec below?

Pirelli PZero Rosso Asimmetrico 245/35 ZR18 88Y Pirelli PZero Rosso Asimmetrico
335/30 ZR18 102Y

I bought some today (didn't check the numbers on them though). They are handed (acemtwhatever!) with some nice rounded edges so hopefully less likely to tramline.

I am pretty sure they are what the Factory currently supply for road use. You can't get Michelins. The Khumo's are very good in the dry, but butt-clenching in the wet.

Paul

IMO using your road tyres on track will put them through a heat cycle that will harden the rubber and ruin their on road performance.

I have used Pirelli Corsas of the same size, very pleased with them.

Has anyone got any experience of Pzero Rossos?

Mark, I have used PZero Rossos in the past on my other vehicles in 17" diameter. Good tyre but a bit noisy. They had a tendency to tramline heavily when wearing out, to the extent my wife would say if I was driving drunk, which naturally I wasn't... biggrin
I use Michelin Pilot Sport3's now with much better results. The price difference between PZero and Michelin are insignificant, at least in my part of the woods.

I used PZero Corsas back in my Porsche racing days as Pirelli was the official supplier. Good tyre indeed. I have read some good comments on the Porsche UK forums from those who use the Michelin Pilot Super Sport (MPSS)

I am trying to wear mine out! (F1's that is!) ... that way I can justify a better set to the missus!
Ideas on the back of a postage stamp please!

Leave more rubber on the road or exercise the doughtnuts. That should justify some new tires on the rear at least.

Hmmmmm... I can get either Pzero (Rosso or Asymetrico), but the Michelins are on back order.

There's a £60 per corner diff, so I'm wondering if the Asyms are worth the extra... Sounds like they are.
