I have a couple of set of these nice vents left, they`re made of black anodized aluminium and a silver insert that can be turned:

PM me if you`re interested.

Do they have to be round? I was thinking of maybe going with something like the 997 setup with four vents. Twin in the centre and one on each side.

Vintage air has several nice designs. I would hasten to add that I used their long skinny defroster type vents for the..........defroster. when you are trying to lay a wall of air up the screen to control fog on the inside of the window round vents never made a lot of sense to me. Lee

never been able to understand why the Ultima factory havent offered a heated screen the same as Stealth did with the prosports based B6, its the same tooling after all, Prosport LM3000, Ultima, Stealth B6 all the same screen as far as I am aware. I did know a few people in Europe running with heated screens, but have lost touch since.

I ended up with mk 6 (I think, perhaps 7) fiesta vents - look similar to Schimms (are these LStangos ones?) - reason for the fiesta ones is there's no real difference in feel to mid range ones from vw, they have a removable outer ring so can be finished in any colour you choose, they're compact and fit flush in the dash.

Nothing wrong with thinking out of the box, but if you act on those thoughts make sure the end result will be approved by the IVA inspector, many have travelled this route and fallen foul at this hurdle, some even having to change their dashboard twice!
ETS. This is not specifically aimed at air vents but all aspects of dash alteration.
If you have doubts get it through IVA and then modify.

hi. that sounds nice, does it use the standard hoses as this might me a nice swap.. standard hoses are 60mm internal diameter.

I think the 6 & 7s are actually the same, I checked though and bought these as mk7.

My 2p worth....... for my single central air vent, I've gone for Merc SLS. I wanted a McLaren 12C vent but it was out of my budget ;-) I quite liked some of the new Audi vents, the A1/A3 vents were quite cool.

For the demist vents, I made my own using a home-brew cut / painted piece of ally as the finishing cover:

Here's what it looks like underneath... as you can see I GRP'd the channel in and took the back of an existing Ultima vent to give the connection to the heater box:

problem I have is dash is fitted and getting to things underneath restricted by chassis and a/c.. like the merc ones too, but for value fiesta might be the best option.

like a3 new type but didn't know what fixes them to dash or hose arrangement

I never had the Ultima supplied ones fitted.

If I had I'd remove the old and redrill then glue in place, nice and simple.
